Step-by-Step Crafting Instructions

Knead and Shape the Clay Pinch Pot
Roll a golf-ball sized lump of air-dry terracotta clay into a smooth sphere. Press your thumb firmly into the center to create a hollow bowl, pinching the rim evenly around the circumference.
Form the Pointed Wick Spout
Gently pinch one side of the circular rim between your index finger and thumb to form a sharp pouring spout where the cotton wick will rest.
Sun-Dry and Base-Coat Painting
Allow the clay vessel to cure for 24 hours until fully firm. Paint the interior and exterior with bright jewel tones: saffron orange, deep royal blue, or vibrant crimson.
Embellish with Mandalas & Sequins
Use fine-tip brushes or toothpicks to dot intricate white, yellow, and gold geometric mandala dots along the rim. Press sparkling sequins around the neck.
Assemble the Accordion Paper Kandeel
Slit colored cardstock strips, roll into an inner cylinder, and slide an outer scored accordion sleeve over it. Attach dangling foil fringes at the base and hang near doorways.
